Auroranlinna is a real estate company owned by the City of Helsinki. Auroranlinna has more than 6,000 privately financed rental apartments. The apartments are mainly located in properties wholly owned by the company in different parts of Helsinki and in one property in Kirkkonummi.

The number of apartments includes individual apartments owned by Auroranlinna in different housing companies in Helsinki (Auroranlinna condominiums).

That is why there are small differences in the way each housing company has decided on many aspects of day-to-day housing. For example, there are differences in where and how to report defects in properties.

Oy Helsingin Asuntohankinta Ab has sent to their customers an advance notice dated June 28, 2022 about the division of the company.

“The City of Helsinki organizes and concentrates its residential property in accordance with the policies of the corporate division of the city government. The purpose is to concentrate the entire privately financed residential property of Oy Helsingin Asuntohankinta Ab in the ownership of Kiinteistö Oy Auroranlinna and the ARA-funded residential property in the ownership of the City of Helsinki Apartments (Heka). The apartments and leases will be transferred to the new owners on October 1, 2022. The new owners will send additional information to tenants closer to the time of the division. More information about Kiinteistö Oy Auroranlinna can be found at www.auroranlinna.fi and Heka at www.hekaoy.fi.”
