Is your TV receiver ready for the transition?

This spring and summer the TV channels will transition to high-definition (HD) broadcasts.

Starting April 1, 2025, Yleisradio (YLE) channels will only be available in HD, while other channels, such as MTV3 and Nelonen, will adopt the same technology on July 1, 2025. The change affects both antenna and cable TV reception.

To check if your TV is compatible, look for HD channels in your TV’s channel list or program guide. Free-to-view HD channels are listed in positions 1–20. If you can see programs on these channels, no new TV receiver is needed.
