Auroranlinna awarded the 2nd place in the 2025 Plumbing renovation competition

We are proud to have received a significant recognition in the 2025 Plumbing renovation competition organized by Asunto- ja kiinteistöalan hallitusammattilaiset ry:n (AKHA Ry, a Finnish association of housing and real estate board professionals), achieving the second place.

This year’s competition focused on future-oriented renovation, emphasizing energy efficiency and energy self-sufficiency, reduction of carbon emissions, and opportunities for future energy savings.

Our project, Laajasuontie 32, received special praise from the jury for its consistent operating methods, well-considered repair strategy, and innovative solutions. In addition to a traditional plumbing renovation, we focused on improving the property’s energy efficiency and bringing the apartments up to modern standards. The building was equipped with geothermal heating, a heat recovery system, a solar power plant, and additional thermal insulation. Furthermore, the apartment layouts were upgraded from their original 1970s design to meet the needs of the 2020s.

According to the jury, our renovation project is an excellent example of a successful and competitive implementation that also serves as an inspiration for other housing companies to develop their operations in a more sustainable direction.
